Directions
Waitsfield, Vermont, is 20 miles southwest of the capital, Montpelier. Kenyon's Field is behind
Kenyon's Variety Store, which is easy to spot on Route 100. It is a large two story square house with a
series of attached red barns and sheds off the rear of the house. The store and field are located about 1/2
mile north of Waitsfield Village on the right. (On the left if you are heading south.)
If you are heading north, please use the first driveway, which is just before the house. If you are heading
south, it will be the second driveway after the house. Please do not use the entrance for the store.
Directions from the northeast or southeast
(Maine, New Hampshire, Mass. or Conn.)
Take I-89 north to Exit 9 (Middlesex, Vermont). Follow signs for Route 100B south to Moretown,
Waitsfield, and Warren. At the junction of Route 100B and Route 100, proceed 3 miles south on Route
100 to Kenyon's Variety Store. The store and field are on your left and take the driveway after the
house.
Directions from the northwest
(Montreal)
Take I-89 south to Exit 10 (Waterbury, Vermont). Follow Route 100 south for about 12 miles. Route
100 will make a right at a stop sign. At this point it is 3 miles south on Route 100 to Kenyon's Variety
Store. The store and field are on your left and take the driveway after the house.
Directions from the southwest
(New York)
Take the Northway to Fort Edward exit, south of Glens Falls, New York. From Fort Edward take Route
4 north and east to Rutland, Vermont, and then on to Killington. Take Route 100 North to Waitsfield
Village. Kenyon's Variety Store and field are a 1/2 mile north of Waitsfield Village on your right. Take
the driveway before the house.
Additional Information
There are numerous scenic gaps through the Green Mountains to the Mad River Valley. If you are
pulling a trailer it is not advised that you use these roads. In particular Lincoln Gap is a single lane,
steep, winding, dirt road that rises to an elevation of 2,424 feet.
The moose are loose in Vermont, so pay attention to moose crossings. In particular, moose are seen on a
regular basis in the Granville Gulf area, which is on Route 100, about 15 miles south of Waitsfield.
Here is another warning to those who travel Route 100. Most towns in Vermont do not have a police
force but do have a plenty of sheriffs and constables who regularly post themselves within the villages to
catch speeders. Heed the speed limit, especially in Waitsfield!
